Godly Grief Leads to Repentance, Not Shame
Godly grief is genuine sorrow over sin and its impact on our relationship with God and with others. Unlike guilt that leaves us trapped in shame, it should move us towards repentance and a changed life. Worldly sorrow focuses on damaged reputation, personal disappointment and pain. Godly grief, however, recognises what sin violates and creates a sincere desire to live differently. Do not rush into comfort without reflection, but do not remain in grief after it has led you to repentance. Through forgiveness and God’s grace, sorrow can become a pathway to restoration and renewed commitment to sexual purity. Confession: I acknowledge that sex is sacred and designed by God for divine purposes. By His grace, I will honour and uphold its sanctity. Amen.
