Oyo Headmaster Regains Freedom After 48 Hours in Captivity

Mr Matthew Kolawale Owoade, headmaster of Nomadic Basic School in Igbojaye, Itesiwaju LGA, was abducted by unidentified gunmen on Saturday evening while returning from his farm. His abductors used his phone to demand a ransom of N30 million. A search team recovered his abandoned motorcycle in a nearby bush at around 8:20 a.m. the following day. He was released unharmed after 48 hours in captivity. His family, colleagues and the local education community have appealed to the police, DSS and NSCDC for a prompt investigation. They also urged anyone with information to come forward to aid in the arrest of the perpetrators.
