Buratai Applauds Tinubu’s Approval of 12 Army Divisions and 28,000 New Recruits

Abuja – Former Chief of Army Staff Lieutenant General Tukur Buratai (rtd) has described President Bola Tinubu’s decision to expand the Nigerian Army from eight to twelve divisions as a historic development. He praised Chief of Army Staff Lieutenant General Waidi Shaibu for his leadership in driving the reorganisation and welcomed the recruitment of 28,000 additional personnel, noting that it will strengthen coverage and operational readiness across all geopolitical zones. Buratai urged the military to enhance its capabilities in missile, drone, cyber, and information warfare to counter evolving threats. He called on officers and soldiers to support the initiative with discipline, expressing hope that it will bring lasting peace and security to every Nigerian.
