Benue NDC Ward Chairman Found Dead After Suspected Attack in Makurdi

Igbu Job Terhemen, chairman of the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC) in Fiidi Council Ward, Makurdi, was found unconscious near his home in the early hours of Wednesday, September 30, 2026. Reports say Terhemen had left home on Tuesday evening to watch a local football match in the Kanshio area but did not return. He was later found in a bush near the NNPC depot along Makurdi-Otukpo Road, tied with ropes and unable to communicate. A source said his phone was still with him and that he had a needle-like injury, raising suspicion that he may have been injected with an unknown substance. He died before receiving medical attention. The NDC has called on security agencies to investigate the incident, arrest those responsible and ensure they face justice.
