Brock Lesnar Announces Retirement From WWE and Combat Sports
Brock Lesnar has announced his retirement from professional wrestling and combat sports after a career that spanned WWE, the UFC, collegiate wrestling and a brief attempt at the NFL. The former UFC heavyweight champion said his recent Hell in a Cell defeat to Oba Femi at SummerSlam convinced him it was time to stop competing. Lesnar thanked supporters who had followed his journey from amateur wrestling to global stardom. Lesnar won the NCAA heavyweight title in 2000, became WWE Champion in 2002, captured the UFC heavyweight belt in 2008 and returned to WWE in 2012 for another dominant run. He says he now plans to focus on his family, hunting and supporting his children’s ambitions.
