Registered Sex Offender Charged After Allegedly Trying to Enrol in US High School Again
A 29-year-old registered sex offender has been charged after allegedly attempting to enrol at Maple Grove Senior High School near Minneapolis while posing as a 17-year-old homeless girl. School staff reportedly became suspicious of the application and contacted police. Charging documents say the suspect claimed to have never attended school and wanted to experience it. Police said the enrolment was never completed and the suspect did not attend classes or enter the campus as a student. The case follows a similar 2025 conviction in Oregon involving an alleged attempt to register at another high school with false documents. The suspect now faces felony forgery charges and is being held on a $50,000 bond.
