Assets vs Salaries: Can Ordinary Nigerians Still Build Wealth?

Something has been on my mind lately. Share prices, property values and land prices keep rising, and people often describe this as wealth creation. But who is actually becoming wealthier? Consider two Nigerians earning roughly the same salary. One has been able to buy shares or land, while the other spends most of their income on rent, food, transport, electricity and family responsibilities. When asset prices rise, the first person's net worth can grow significantly. For the second person, life may simply become more expensive. It feels like the growing divide is not only between high and low earners, but also between people who own assets and those who do not. Can someone on an ordinary salary, without inherited property or family wealth, still realistically build serious wealth in Nigeria today?
