Lookman Says He Is Learning From Simeone After Scoring Against Sevilla
Super Eagles winger Ademola Lookman says he is adapting to new tactical demands under Atlético Madrid coach Diego Simeone. Lookman was deployed as a centre-forward in Atlético’s opening La Liga matches against Málaga and Villarreal because Julián Álvarez and Alexander Sørloth were unavailable. Simeone later apologised for playing him out of position. The 2024 CAF Player of the Year said he is focused on learning from Simeone and his staff as Atlético build on their start to the season. Lookman also scored in the club’s 3–1 win over Sevilla.
