Lagos Police Detain Four Officers, Disband Imota Tactical Team Over Alleged Harassment
The Lagos State Police Command has detained four officers attached to the Imota Tactical Team after a video allegedly showing a young man being harassed in Odogunyan, Ikorodu, went viral. Commissioner of Police Tijani Fatai also ordered the tactical team’s disbandment while investigations and disciplinary proceedings continue. Three of the officers were paraded at the command headquarters in Ikeja. The command said community members helped identify the officers. It stated that no officer has the right to intimidate, harass or violate residents’ rights, and urged the public to report police misconduct.
