Doctor Recalls Gunpoint Robbery While Mourning Colleague Killed in Port Harcourt
A doctor has recalled the trauma of being robbed at gunpoint after returning home from a late hospital shift, following the reported killing of Dr. Stephen Vanman in Port Harcourt. She said the attackers followed her into her compound, forced her into her flat and robbed her family while her children lay on the floor. The experience left her afraid of driving at night for a long time. Her account came as she mourned Dr. Vanman, who was reportedly found dead with multiple stab wounds near Market Junction on Aba Road. She described him, based on her daughter’s account, as a compassionate doctor and called for those responsible to be brought to justice.
