Foundation Seeks Full Probe Into Kano Political Commentator’s Killing

The Foundation for Digital Justice has petitioned the Kano State Police Command to conduct a thorough investigation into the killing of political commentator Ibrahim Khalil Dan Shagamu. Dan Shagamu, a former radio reporter and digital commentator, was reportedly killed at his home in Gaida Quarters, Kumbotso Local Government Area, on September 8. The foundation asked police to investigate both the attackers and whether his public commentary, advocacy work or alleged prior threats were linked to the crime. Police have launched an investigation and previously announced the arrest of two suspects. Rights groups and members of the public are calling for all those involved to be identified and brought to justice.
