I Quit After My Employer Broke Our Salary Agreement and Demanded 24-Hour Work

I resigned after my employer repeatedly failed to honour the pay we agreed on. I was promised ₦100,000 for my training month and ₦120,000 from the second month, but I received only ₦79,000 for July and was never given an appointment letter. The job demanded 24-hour availability with no days off, rest or proper sleep. Despite handling bookings and cash transactions responsibly, I was met with insults, yelling and little regard for the overtime I worked. I was asked to train two supervisors brought in from another branch, only to be told afterwards that I would be transferred to Lagos as a manager. I chose to leave because the situation was damaging my self-esteem and peace of mind. It is painful that many employers take advantage of workers. I worked diligently, accounted for every naira entrusted to me and never had any report of theft, even during difficult times.
