Ugandan Woman Seeks Help Locating American Serviceman She Says Abandoned Her and Their Children

Juliet Mbabazi, a woman from Mbarara, Uganda, is seeking help to locate Travis Preston, an American serviceman she says is the father of her two children. Mbabazi said they were married for about two years before Preston returned to the United States. She alleges that he later stopped supporting the family, leaving her to care for their children, aged three and seven, alone. Singer Bruno K has appealed to Ugandans in the United States, especially those with military contacts, to help establish Preston’s whereabouts. He also urged the US Embassy in Kampala to clarify whether the children may qualify for citizenship or other assistance, while a fundraiser has been launched to support the family’s immediate needs.
