Spanish Sports Executive Withdraws From Proposed Wikki Tourists Partnership
Spanish football executive Josep Gené Garcia has withdrawn from a proposed collaboration with Bauchi-based Wikki Tourists FC, saying he received no formal response to his implementation plan or professional arrangements. Gené said he travelled to Bauchi after being invited to support the club’s development. His proposal included youth development, Spanish-Nigerian coaching partnerships, international links and revenue from player transfers to be reinvested in the club. He said the club’s social-media posts about his September visit created public expectations, but no formal agreement or clarification had been provided by October 27. Gené asked that his name and image no longer be presented as part of an active appointment or partnership. He thanked Bauchi officials, club staff and supporters, and said he remains open to broader sports-development discussions with the state government. Wikki Tourists has not publicly responded to the claims.
