Three Arrested Over Mob Killing of 25-Year-Old Man in Jos

The Plateau State Police Command has arrested three suspects over the mob killing of 25-year-old Ibrahim Mbaya in Jos. Mbaya, a resident of Rayfield in Jos South LGA, was allegedly attacked by youths over the suspected theft of an iPhone 12. Police said the victim was rushed unconscious to Jos University Teaching Hospital after a Good Samaritan raised an alarm. Medical personnel reportedly confirmed that he was dead on arrival. Investigators arrested Rinji Daniel Fwanji, Emmanuel Newyear and Nensemka Fwanji. One suspect was allegedly seen in a viral video striking Mbaya with a wooden plank, while the suspects reportedly admitted attacking him rather than reporting the alleged theft to the authorities. The case has been transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Department. Police said more suspects are being pursued and warned residents against jungle justice.
