Carlos Queiroz Leaves Ghana Job After Gambia Defeat in AFCON Qualifiers
Carlos Queiroz has left his role as head coach of Ghana’s Black Stars after a difficult start to their AFCON qualifying campaign. Queiroz returned to the job in September after previously stepping down following Ghana’s World Cup exit. His second spell produced two defeats: a 2-0 loss to Ivory Coast and a 4-2 home defeat to Gambia. The Ghana Football Association said both parties mutually agreed to end his contract after discussions. The association thanked Queiroz and his technical staff, adding that it would announce the next steps for the national team’s leadership in due course.
