We Need N44,000 to Cook Soup for a Week—How Are Nigerians Surviving?
I’m shocked at how much it costs to cook soup now. The ingredients alone are about N20,000. Then I must recharge my electricity meter with at least N10,000 and buy 10 litres of generator fuel for N14,000. That’s N44,000 just to keep one pot of soup for a week. Most salaries can’t cover these expenses. Power reforms under President Tinubu feel deadly when basic survival is at stake. Any reform that threatens human survival is an evil reform. Who else is in my shoes? Share your experience if you’re facing the same struggle.
