16-Year-Old Girl Found Dead After Attack in Plateau Community

A 16-year-old girl, Salomi Ishaya, was reportedly killed while returning from a river in Luwaran village, Kawam District, Bassa Local Government Area of Plateau State. Troops of Operation Enduring Peace reportedly responded to the attack at about 7:00 p.m. on October 4, 2026, and found her body after the assailants had fled. Her remains were taken to the SDA Hospital Mission mortuary in Jengre. Security personnel and local security operatives have begun efforts to identify and arrest those responsible. The motive for the attack has not been established, and investigations are ongoing.
