Residents in Abuja are counting their losses after heavy rainfall triggered a flash flood that submerged vehicles, damaged equipment and caused parts of some buildings to collapse. Videos from the area show floodwater sweeping through premises and shifting parked cars. One affected resident said he was grateful to have survived but did not know where to begin after seeing the damage to his belongings. He described the incident as a calamity, saying the flood came suddenly and left people with little time to move their property to safety.
