UNIBEN Refuses to Clear Me 5 Years After Graduation – Need Legal Help
I graduated from the University of Benin in December 2019 but couldn’t clear my name until over a year later due to lack of funds. Student Affairs found my name was misspelled and sent me back to my department for correction. I wrote letters as requested, but months passed with no update. Each trip cost me over ₦50,000. A new HOD took over last year. He accused me of not being serious and insulted me, yet still asked for another letter and copies of my screening certificate and eligibility slip. I submitted them, but nearly a year has passed with no action. The clearance officer confirmed they never corrected my name. All my original documents carry the correct name. It’s been over five years since I graduated and I can’t apply for jobs without my certificate. I want to pursue legal action but lack connections. If any lawyer or well-connected member can help, please reach out. Thank you.
