Tinubu Says Nigeria Is on Path to Prosperity as NGX Value Reaches ₦160tn

President Bola Tinubu says Nigeria is on the path to prosperity following a sharp rise in the value of the Nigerian Exchange Group (NGX). According to the NGX, the market’s value has increased from about ₦30 trillion in 2023 to ₦160 trillion. Receiving the NGX board and management in Abuja, Tinubu credited his administration’s economic reforms and praised the Economic Management Team, including Finance Minister Wale Edun, Budget Minister Atiku Bagudu, CBN Governor Yemi Cardoso and Nigeria Revenue Service Chairman Zacch Adedeji. The President said stronger private-sector investment is needed to create jobs and support his administration’s target of building a $1 trillion economy. He also said the Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited is expected to be listed on the Nigerian capital market in the future.
