Nigeria Stability Index: Security Confidence Falls as Economic Sentiment Improves
Nigeria’s Stability Index recorded an overall score of 4.3 out of 10 in August 2026, with security rated as the weakest area at 2.0 out of 10. The security score fell further to 1.6 in September, indicating increased concern among respondents. In contrast, foreign-exchange and economic sentiment, as well as investor confidence, performed comparatively better. The index tracks public sentiment across security, social stability, the economy, governance and investor confidence. The results suggest that improving economic perceptions have not yet translated into stronger confidence in national security.
