Mastantuono Breaks Messi’s Age Record With Fiorentina Hat-Trick

Real Madrid loanee Franco Mastantuono scored a hat-trick as Fiorentina beat Venezia 4-2 in Serie A. The 19-year-old became the youngest Argentine to score a hat-trick in one of Europe’s top five leagues, surpassing the age Lionel Messi was when he recorded his first treble for Barcelona. Venezia had taken the lead through Super Eagles striker Akor Adams, but Mastantuono scored twice in quick succession before completing his hat-trick late in the match. The result gave Fiorentina their first points of the season. After scoring only three goals in 35 appearances for Real Madrid last season, Mastantuono has now matched that total in five games during his loan spell in Italy.
