Bauchi State Police Command has arrested two men suspected of acting as informants for gunmen who attacked a resident of Gwanar Dutse Village in Gwana District, Alkaleri Local Government Area. Police said the attack occurred at about 5am on July 31, 2026. The 46-year-old victim was reportedly shot in the right thigh while trying to escape and was taken to General Hospital, Kashere, where he is said to be responding to treatment. The suspects, aged 18 and 22, were arrested on August 2. Police said preliminary findings indicate that they allegedly provided information to the attackers. The case has been transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Department in Bauchi for further investigation and possible prosecution.
