Nasarawa Principal Accused of Beating JSS 2 Student Over Alleged Refusal to Do Manual Labour
Residents of Ugya in Toto Local Government Area of Nasarawa State have called for an investigation after the principal of Junior Secondary School, Ugya, was accused of beating a JSS 2 student. A resident said the student was allegedly punished for not taking part in manual labour after school hours. The student's father reportedly visited the school to complain about the alleged excessive beating. He was later said to have been taken to a police station after confronting the principal. Community members are urging the state Ministry of Education and other relevant authorities to investigate the incident.
