Gunmen Kill Kogi APC Chairman, Abduct Passenger in Highway Attack

Gunmen have killed Ishaq Yunusa, the APC chairman in Dekina Local Government Area of Kogi State, during an attack on the Itobe–Ochadamu Expressway. Police said the assailants emerged from the bush around Ojuwo Olijo at about 5 p.m. on Thursday and fired at motorists. Yunusa was found dead inside a blue Toyota Corolla abandoned on the road. Another occupant of the vehicle was reportedly abducted and taken into the surrounding forest. Police have begun a search operation and intensified security patrols along the route as investigations continue.
