Edo Security Forces Rescue Three AAU Students, Neutralise Kidnap Suspect
Operatives of the Edo State Police Command rescued three kidnapped students of Ambrose Alli University in Ekpoma after a fierce gun battle in Erah Forest. The students—Praise Obagbalu (18), Favour Okoroje (21) and Balogun Precious (19)—were abducted on the night of July 12 in the Ujemen G.T. Extension area. During the attack, 24-year-old student Peter Ekpen Adolor was shot when he tried to help at a hostel gate. He was rushed to hospital but was later confirmed dead by medical staff. The joint operation involved the Nigerian Army, the Edo State Security Corps and local hunters. It led to the neutralisation of one suspected kidnapper, the arrest of another with gunshot wounds, and the recovery of three AK-47 rifles, ammunition and other items. The rescued students have been rushed to hospital for medical attention. The Edo State Police Command extends its condolences to the family of the late student and vows to continue operations until all fleeing gang members are brought to justice.
