Agada’s Backers Accuse LP Leadership of Unjust Exclusion, Threaten Legal Action
A fresh crisis has erupted within the Labour Party as supporters of Arc. Peter Agada protest his sudden disqualification from the upcoming presidential primary. In a joint statement, party stakeholders aligned with Agada say he was screened on May 6 after paying nomination and campaign fees totalling about ₦300 million. They allege the party leadership then sent him a disqualification letter on May 28, just 48 hours before the primary. The group argues the Labour Party constitution contains no zoning clause and accuses the national leadership of inconsistent and unfair application of rules. They demand the reversal of Agada’s exclusion or they will pursue legal redress before the primary.
