Anambra’s male basketball and volleyball teams have qualified for the U-19 National Intermediate Games despite losing their finals at the South-East zonal eliminations in Owerri. In basketball, Anambra drew 24-24 with hosts Imo after regulation time before losing 29-27 in overtime. Imo also defeated Anambra 2-1 in the volleyball final. Anambra won the opening volleyball set 25-11, but Imo responded with another 25-11 result before taking the deciding set 15-13. Both teams will compete at the national games in the first quarter of 2027.
