Illegal Waste Operators Assault LAWMA Enforcement Team on Lagos-Badagry Expressway

Illegal Waste Operators Assault LAWMA Enforcement Team on Lagos-Badagry Expressway

LAWMA has condemned the attack on its enforcement officers by suspected illegal waste operators along the Lagos-Badagry Expressway. The agency’s managing director described the assault as unacceptable and urged anyone who obstructs its lawful activities to beware of prosecution. He said the incident occurred near Mazamaza Bus Stop during a routine environmental monitoring exercise. Despite the attack, the team pressed on with compliance checks across Iyana Iba, Okokomaiko and Agbara. LAWMA warned that assaults on its officers are a serious offence and called on residents to report unauthorised dumpsites and patronise only approved waste service providers.
