Delta Police Arrest Woman Over Alleged Trafficking of Victims to Côte d’Ivoire
Delta State Police Command says it has arrested a 26-year-old woman suspected of trafficking a 25-year-old victim to Côte d’Ivoire for sexual exploitation. Police said the victim was allegedly promised vocational training in hairdressing before being taken abroad and forced into prostitution. She has been returned to Nigeria, reunited with her family, and is receiving medical care. Investigators said the suspect allegedly admitted trafficking the rescued woman and another victim to Côte d’Ivoire, where they were handed over to an alleged accomplice. Police say efforts are ongoing to rescue the second victim and arrest other members of the suspected trafficking network.
