Army Says Farmer-Herder Clashes in Sanga Have Dropped by 70%
The Nigerian Army says farmer-herder clashes and farmland destruction have reduced by about 70% in Sanga Local Government Area of Kaduna State. Major General Maxwell Dangana, Commander of Operation ENDURING PEACE, attributed the reported decline to military interventions, community dialogue and collaboration among local stakeholders. He spoke at a security seminar bringing together farmers, herders, youths and community leaders. The army urged residents, particularly young people, to reject violence and support peaceful coexistence. Refurbished operational vehicles and motorcycles were also commissioned to improve troop response to banditry and other security threats in the area.
