Ekiti Court Remands Pastor, Accomplice Over Alleged Ritual Threats
Ado-Ekiti Chief Magistrate Court has ordered a 10-day remand of 45-year-old pastor Isaac Moses Adedokun and his alleged accomplice, Aje Olajide Emmanuel, at a correctional facility. They are charged with actions likely to cause a breach of peace and creating fear in the Ijadu community. Prosecutor O.S. Ojo of the NSCDC told the court that between April and May 2026, Adedokun threatened to attack the community and carried out ritual activities in public. Emmanuel is accused of sheltering the pastor to prevent his arrest. The offences violate Sections 69 and 181 of the Ekiti State Criminal Law, punishable under Sections 69(1)(b) and 181(2). Defence counsel A. Ayodeji opposed the remand and asked for bail. The magistrate upheld the remand and advised the defence to apply for bail. The case is adjourned until June 15, 2026, for further hearing.
