Sierra Leonean Man Arraigned in Lagos Over Alleged $190,324 Property Fraud
The EFCC has arraigned Sierra Leonean national Favour Foday Kamara before an Ikeja High Court over the alleged fraudulent conversion of $190,324. The complainant, Henrietta Vandi, alleged that Kamara persuaded her to invest in a Lagos property after they met at the Synagogue Church of All Nations between 2019 and 2020. She said she sent funds through money-transfer services and cash payments for the purchase and renovation of a property in the Alimosho area. Investigators alleged that the property was bought in Kamara’s name and that he collects rent from tenants there. He pleaded not guilty to the two-count charge of alleged theft and fraudulent conversion. The court ordered his remand at the Ikoyi Correctional Centre and adjourned the case until October 29, 2026.
