Does Showing Too Much Love Make a Partner Lose Interest?
Some people believe that showing too much love in a relationship makes a partner take them for granted. They advise men to stay distant, avoid frequent calls or texts, and keep their feelings hidden to remain attractive. I disagree with that conclusion. Expressing love is not weakness. The real issue is when affection becomes desperation. Repeatedly calling for attention, accepting disrespect, abandoning personal goals, or begging someone to stay are signs that healthy boundaries may be missing. A person can love deeply while keeping their self-respect, ambitions and identity. Love should be mutual. If your effort is consistently one-sided, step back and assess the relationship instead of working harder to earn basic affection. Do you think showing genuine love makes people lose interest, or do we sometimes mistake a lack of reciprocity for a problem with affection?
