Blessed Are the Persecuted: May 11, 2026 Daily Devotional
Theme: Blessed Are the Persecuted Memory Verse: “Yea, and all that will live godly in Christ Jesus shall suffer persecution.” (2 Timothy 3:12) Persecution is a part of the Christian journey. While it feels painful, Jesus promises in Matthew 5:10 that those who suffer for righteousness will inherit the kingdom of heaven. Compromising faith to avoid hardship robs us of the opportunity to shine God’s light. When Peter and John were jailed for preaching, they emerged with greater boldness (Acts 4). After Stephen’s martyrdom, the scattered believers shared the gospel more widely (Acts 8). Even Saul, who persecuted Christians, met Jesus on the Damascus road and became a powerful witness (Acts 9). If you face insults or punishment for your faith, remember God’s grace is sufficient. He never abandons the persecuted (Psalm 46:1; Hebrews 13:5). Stand firm, knowing that in every trial, Christ is with you and a great reward awaits.
