14 Charged Over Alleged Cocaine Trafficking Ring Linked to Penn State Fraternities
Fourteen people have been charged over an alleged cocaine-trafficking operation linked to Penn State University fraternities Delta Upsilon and Sigma Chi. Prosecutors say 13 of the defendants were students during the alleged operation in 2023 and 2024. Investigators allege that two senior fraternity members led trips to Philadelphia and New York to obtain cocaine. The drugs were allegedly cut, packaged and distributed to students, with some fraternity pledges said to have been involved in the packaging process. Four defendants face felony charges including corrupt organisations, conspiracy and dealing in proceeds of unlawful activity. Another defendant faces conspiracy-related charges, while the father of one student is accused of hiding drugs and cash and obstructing the investigation. Penn State has placed Delta Upsilon on interim suspension and says it will investigate current students and the organisation through its disciplinary processes. Sigma Chi is not recognised by the university.
