How to Recognise Wisdom That Comes From Above
Not every form of wisdom reflects God’s principles. People may have knowledge, influence or clever strategies while still making choices driven by pride, greed, manipulation or selfish ambition. James 3:17 describes wisdom from above as pure, peaceable, gentle, open to reason, full of mercy and good fruits, impartial and sincere. This means godly wisdom is seen not only in the answer we give, but also in the motives and results behind it. A useful test is to consider what a decision produces: honesty or deception, peace or needless conflict, humility or pride, righteousness or compromise. Godly wisdom does not avoid necessary correction, but it seeks reconciliation and restoration rather than conflict for its own sake.
