UNICEF, Kano Partner to Track Funding for Child Nutrition and Protection
UNICEF and the Kano State Government are working to improve budget tracking for nutrition, social protection and child protection programmes. The initiative is expected to help Ministries, Departments and Agencies monitor allocations, spending and implementation, while identifying funding gaps in programmes for children and vulnerable households. Kano officials said the state is preparing its 2027 budget and wants development partners to align their support with government plans. UNICEF said the budget-tagging system would promote evidence-based spending, accountability and better outcomes for children.
