NAFDAC Seizes Suspected Fake Nivea and Listerine Products in Warri Market Raid
NAFDAC says it seized suspected counterfeit cosmetics and other regulated products during an operation at Igbudu Market in Warri, Delta State. The raid followed reports of counterfeit goods in the market and was carried out by officers from the agency’s Asaba Zonal Office, with support from security agencies and the market union. Items bearing the Listerine and Nivea brand names were among those seized. The agency also warned consumers to treat KY Jelly lubricant currently on sale as suspect. It said the product’s marketing authorisation holders confirmed that the last authorised supply was made more than five years ago. NAFDAC rejected social media claims that its officers were attacked or chased from the market. It said the operation was completed and products were removed from the identified locations.
