Nwifuru Pledges Stronger Partnership With Medical Consultants to Improve Ebonyi Healthcare
Governor Francis Nwifuru says Ebonyi State will continue investing in healthcare infrastructure, personnel and welfare to make quality medical services more accessible to residents. Speaking at a gala night for the Medical and Dental Consultants Association of Nigeria in Abakaliki, the governor said tertiary institutions were being upgraded and equipped to reduce the need for residents to seek specialised treatment outside the state. He also cited ongoing recruitment of health workers and greater attention to primary healthcare. Nwifuru called for deeper collaboration with medical consultants on research, mentorship, policy development and knowledge-sharing. MDCAN pledged to support efforts to strengthen healthcare delivery and advance the medical profession.
