Delta South Aspirant Sues INEC Over Omission From ADC Senate Candidates List

Dr. Austin Orette has asked the Federal High Court in Abuja to compel the Independent National Electoral Commission to list him as the African Democratic Congress candidate for the Delta South Senatorial District election. Orette said he won the ADC primary held on 22 May 2026 and that the party submitted his name to INEC on 14 July. However, his name was omitted from INEC’s final list of candidates published on 12 September. He is seeking declarations that the omission was unlawful and that the published list should be set aside to the extent that it excludes him. INEC and the ADC are named as defendants in the suit.
