Madugu Names 25-Player Super Falcons Squad for WAFCON 2026
Nigeria’s Super Falcons head coach Justin Madugu has announced his final 25-player squad for the Women’s Africa Cup of Nations in Morocco. The roster features key stars from the 2024 winning team, including Asisat Oshoala, Chiamaka Nnadozie, Rasheedat Ajibade, Toni Payne and Deborah Abiodun. Experienced defender Ashleigh Plumptre misses out after suffering an injury in training. The Falcons will compete in Group C against Malawi (July 28), Zambia (August 1) and Egypt (August 5) in Rabat. This tournament doubles as qualifying for the 2027 FIFA Women’s World Cup, with the top four teams earning direct slots.
