Maresca Says Man City Did Not Deserve Aston Villa Defeat

Enzo Maresca said Manchester City did not deserve to lose after Aston Villa scored twice from situations he described as avoidable. City equalised through Erling Haaland shortly after half-time, but Villa regained the lead on the hour mark and held on for the win. The result was City’s first Premier League defeat of the season. Maresca said his side created several chances and spent long periods in Villa’s half. However, he admitted City must be more clinical and defend transitions better ahead of their next league match against Brighton.
