Your “Type” May Be Familiar, Not Good for You
Dating is not always a simple choice based on love, compatibility or character. Sometimes, our brains are drawn to what feels familiar, even when that pattern is unhealthy. You may mistake emotional distance for confidence, control for strength, or constant drama for chemistry. A calm and consistent partner can even feel “boring” when you are used to chasing affection, arguments and reconciliation. Looks, money, status, tribe, religion and social expectations can also shape who we consider desirable before we truly examine their character. Attraction is not the same as compatibility. Someone can look like your dream partner and still disturb your peace. Before choosing someone, ask yourself why you are drawn to them. Are you choosing their character, or are you repeating a familiar pattern in a different face?
