NDLEA Arrests 140 Suspects, Seizes 816kg of Drugs in Kaduna Crackdown
The NDLEA Kaduna State Command says it arrested 140 suspected drug traffickers and seized 816.506kg of illicit drugs during operations in August. The command also dismantled 107 drug joints across the state and recovered 241 rounds of 7.62mm ammunition, along with a locally made pistol. Cannabis made up most of the drugs seized, at 791.469kg. Other recoveries included cocaine, tramadol, methamphetamine, codeine and other psychotropic substances. The agency said eight people completed counselling, treatment and rehabilitation programmes. Another 35 received brief intervention services, while 754 suspected users underwent drug integrity tests. The commander said the operations reflect continued efforts to disrupt drug supply networks and reduce drug-related crime in Kaduna State.
