Ibadan’s Olubadan Urges Unity After Ojoo Killings

Oba Rasidi Ladoja has appealed for calm in Ibadan following a recent clash in the Ojoo area. The unrest began after a commercial motorcyclist believed to be of Yoruba origin was killed. Tensions flared the next day when Hausa and Yoruba youths confronted one another, and another life was reportedly lost. The monarch described the violence as heartbreaking and stressed that Ibadan is home to people from many backgrounds. He urged residents to see each other as brothers and sisters and to preserve the city’s long tradition of peaceful coexistence. He called on community leaders, youths, and all residents to remain calm and support efforts to maintain law and order in the ancient city.
