Abuja Organ-Harvesting Victim Alleges Friend Changed His Identity and Kept Part of Payment
Samuel Ezekiel has alleged that his friend, Emmanuel Odeh, deceived him into undergoing kidney removal at a hospital in Abuja. He said his identity was changed to “Hassan Abubakar” through an affidavit before the procedure. Speaking during a police parade of suspects linked to an alleged organ-harvesting syndicate in Abuja and Nasarawa, Ezekiel said he was paid in dollars before surgery. He alleged that he handed the money to Odeh for safekeeping before entering the theatre. Ezekiel alleged that after the operation, Odeh had exchanged the money and spent part of it on phones, power banks and Wi-Fi devices. He said they stayed in the hospital for about a week before being discharged.
