Enugu Court Sentences Phone Snatching Convict to Five Years in Prison
An Enugu North Magistrate Court has sentenced 34-year-old Ejike Nnam to five years’ imprisonment after he pleaded guilty to robbing a woman of an iPhone XR valued at ₦240,000. The court also imposed a three-year sentence for conspiracy. Both terms will run concurrently, meaning he will serve five years. Police said the robbery allegedly occurred on Bisalla Road, Enugu, on October 8, 2026, and that an alleged accomplice remains at large. In a separate case, police arrested Richard Chukwuma over the alleged theft of a bottle of whisky from a supermarket in Enugu. He was later arraigned and remanded, while investigations continue.
