Normand Tousignant has been recognised by Guinness World Records as the world’s oldest first-time grandfather. He was 92 years and 24 days old when his only granddaughter, Madison, was born in North Carolina in September 2022. The record was celebrated during his 96th birthday party, where he received his certificate alongside Madison. His family says becoming her grandfather brought fresh joy to his life. Madison is the only child of Tousignant’s only daughter, Kerry. The family later moved closer so they could spend more time together.
